SproutFive
Nonprofit Website Redesign
Project details: In early 2023, SproutFive, an early childhood learning and development center servicing south Columbus suburbs, was looking to redesign their current website which the organization had felt lacked clarity and was difficult to navigate.
Other problems the project aimed to address include:
- Improving UX to cater to SproutFive families and policy makers/donors.
- Clearly stating and visually reflecting the SproutFive’s brand and mission.
- Effectively organizing large amounts of information.
- Designing to include more obvious and compelling CTAs.
Process: Grace, along with a team of designers, copywriters, and developers, developed a comprehensive wireframe to target SproutFive’s key audiences. After gaining client approval of the wireframes, Grace and another designer each curated and presented a distinct site design utilizing SproutFive’s colors and logo.
In her design, Grace drew inspiration from childlike crayon and paint textures, basic elementary shapes, and color blocking to reference the organization’s focus on early education. She used ample white space and adhered to a grid, balancing the design with intentional breaks to encourage users to scroll.
End result: After Grace and the team presented both distinct design options, the client chose to blend elements from each, resulting in a unique third layout. This final design was developed and published in March 2023. The client was thrilled with the improved UX/UI, and in 2024, the site was awarded a Gold award at the Hermes Creative Awards in the Nonprofit Web Design category.
